Bringing a Smile!

My grandson's smile always brings a smile to my face; I hope it brings one to yours today, too!

Odds and Ends

These berries are so pretty by this utility pole; I think the colors are lovely together.

Grasses at the water's edge, beneath a big, clear sky.
This looks a lot like Queen Anne's Lace, but I am not certain it is; the tulip poplar beneath it is ubiquitous in these parts.

I Love Looking at These!

The leaf colors in this pond are amazing to me. I would love to have them for a blanket!

Water Lily v. Lotus Blossom

Do you know the difference between a Lotus and a Water Lily? The blossom of the water lily rests on the surface of the water; the lotus blossom is often several feet above the water. The lotus is from the East; water lily from the West. I am sure there are many other differences a botonist could tell you about, but at least now when you see them, you'll know which is which.

The Buzz

The lavender is pretty right now; and a-buzz with bees of all sorts, and a variety of butterflies as well. I plan to cut some tomorrow morning early; a friend will show me how to weave the stems for pretty little gifts.

The cone flowers are nearby, and hold steady far longer than the lavender, allowing me to snap a picture of a bee. What a busy, busy world in my backyard!

One is Silver, the Other, Gold

I have been giving great thought to this blog, to my Ravelry projects (all linked to my original blog) and to how to preserve the information from one, for the other.

My idea is this: to put all my Ravelry knitting projects onto SweetKnits (it was created at the same time I created the one you are reading now), and use that blog to link to Ravelry. This blog will remain as the original: for whatever in the world I want! Sure, I'll keep knitting here; and grandbaby pictures, and food and garden and vacation - you get the idea.

The work entailed in the transfer of Ravelry project information is something I am not quite ready to think about yet; but I believe it's doable. If you have had a similar task, I would like to hear from you. I need to think about it more and bring some order to the process.

So, like soup, where individual foods need time in the pot with one another to become something altogether new and delicious, my thoughts need time, too. If only I had taken some time to think before deleting my old email address...but you know, I believe there is always a silver lining in the darkest cloud.

Mom taught me that...
what a gift!

Trying Again

I deleted my original gmail address after creating one I liked better - DUH! There went my blog, attached to the first address! Not thinking! This name is pretty close to the other, so it should be an easy transition. Now if I can just keep my wits about me!

Give me a few days to get things settled and I will be back in the groove, with pics of knitting, the cutest baby, a flower or two, and maybe some mouth-watering food. (Above is Cold Sliced Chicken in Tuna Sauce - Fathers Day food!)
